Learning Lightroom is easy with a little guidance and practice.
May 19th & 26th 2018
This intermediate / advanced class will getting you editing like a pro!
Maximum of 10 participants.
In what seems like a long time ago post process editing was solely available in the realm of the seasoned professional. If you wanted your photos to look great you had to take them to a lab or send them off to someone who knew what they were doing. How times have changed!
Today everyone has the ability to easily conduct quality post-processing work in a matter of minutes with results that can compare to what the professionals of yore would accomplish in much greater time. Things are good!
Welcome to the age of desktop image editing.
Post processing is the place where you really get to know your images. It is the place where most of your time fine tuning your photography will be spent and it is a huge part of the digital photography process. It is the place where you are able to create a “look” for your work and continue your creative process after making the image in camera.
What we have before us is almost limitless possibilities. All it takes is a little know how and some good software.
- I have have been using Lightroom for over ten years and will teach you my professional tips and techniques so that you can process your images easily and confidently.
- I like to teach these workshops live so that I can interact with you, answer your questions and work with your images. That to me is so important for understanding and comprehension – being able to ask questions in real time and get answers!
- I teach in small groups so that you will get opportunities to get lots of time with me. I do not end the session until I’ve answered all of your questions! Plus you can email me anytime before, during or after the workshop with questions.
Once you sign up for one of my workshops you are my student for life!
My software of choice is Adobe Lightroom CC.
With Lightroom you get all your image editing needs in one fantastic application.
Lightroom is what is known as a photographic catalog application. Think of it like a library – it is where you store and sort all your images, unlike Photoshop where you would work one only one image at a time.
But the fun aspect of Lightroom start when you learn how to make your images pop and even impress yourself with how amazing they look. The Develop Module is where this all happens and by watching me work and asking me questions in real-time you couldn’t ask for a better environment for deep understanding and comprehension.
I want to help you learn how to quickly and easily process your images – so they look fantastic and are easy to share with others.
In this 2 week Lightroom class you will learn how to process with confidence.
- Saturday 19th May at 6 – 9pm GMT (Greewich Mean Time)
- Saturday 26th May at 6 – 9pm GMT (Greewich Mean Time) Timezone converter here.
Both sessions will be recorded and sent to the group.
They will be great to reference later, or catch up on anything you missed. Plus even if you can’t make a session you can still submit questions so I can answer them in session.

I will show you how to work with multiple images to synchronize process settings in batches to speed up your workflow.
In addition to all this you will learn a professional Digital Asset Management (DAM) workflow that I use to really speed up the time spent in this amazing program(so I don’t have to spend so much time in Lightroom!).
And of course I will talk about the critical importance of shooting RAW files…
For this class you will need to have Lightroom installed on your computer as I will be giving exercises after each class. I do highly recommend you get Lightroom CC on subscription from Adobe.
Adobe has a fantastic subscription plan for photographers for less than what it would cost to buy two rolls of film per month, if you still do that sort of thing!
